Prosthetic Devices for Amputees

SPECIAL PROJECTS

Across the Globe Children's Foundation (ATGCF) projects funded under our Special Projects initiative include those that support the social, medical, and emotional services for children who have been orphaned, are homeless, or who lack access to resources due to poverty. Below is just one example of a project we have solely funded.

PROSTHETIC DEVICES FOR AMPUTEES - Ecuador

Mahavir Kmina is an organization based in Colombia that creates and donates prostheses to those who have suffered limb amputations. The organization aims to improve the quality of life of amputees by manufacturing, fitting, and providing rehabilitation to those who are not able to do so due to poor economic conditions and lack of access to proper medical care. The prostheses allow recipients to regain their independence, work, and improve their living conditions.

ATGCF has partnered with Mahavir Kmina to bring these services from Colombia to Ecuador. In particular, the program will serve Ecuadorian children who have suffered limb amputations as a result of health-related or catastrophic events.
